PASSION (Shiba Inu), RIKER (Rottweiler) and MAGGIE (Border Collie).
These three dog friends will take you
on a guided tour of what is taught in the basic dog obedience class. |
PASSION
is sitting on the left side of her handler. This is the heel position
and when handler is not in motion dog should sit here.

GROUP of dogs showing the heel position while moving.
Dogs are taught with kind words and a tasty treat to learn to walk
beside their handler without pulling on the leash.
MAGGIE,
PASSION and RIKER show how the sit and stay exercise is done. |

What happened RIKER!! Dogs will make mistakes, after
all the best way to learn is from our mistakes. It does take some
patience to teach a dog obedience. If the dog is starting to get bored
and making a lot of mistakes give him a break and play a game of ball.

The GROUP is slowing the pace now by showing how the
down and stay is done.
WOW!
Look how good the GROUP is when they are on the down and stay. Dogs
that learn how to do this well can be placed on a down stay when
visitors come to their home and not bother the guest. |
PASSION, RIKER and MAGGIE or really having fun now.
They hope to encourage other dogs to take an obedience class to be
better companions with their families. May be at the end of the class
there will be a party.
