----- World's Biggest Fur Ball ----

Hold on to your hat here is the information on the making of the Worlds Biggest Fur Ball.

Born as a tiny little Fur Ball made from the under coat brushings of my dog on December 6 2004.

The process I used in making the Baby Fur Ball is called Needle Felting.

As the days went by I added more fur clippings from the Dogs that come into my Dog Grooming Shop and started to have the owners sign a log book to document all the Dog Names, Breeds, and City they were from. I have also added some of the undercoat brushing from Kitties. I then applied to The Guinness Book of World Records to see if they would record My Fur Ball. I received a rejection letter from them on January 14, 2005:

Thank you for sending us the details of your recent record proposal for 'Fur Ball'. We are afraid to say that we are unable to accept this as a Guinness World Record.

We receive over 60,000 enquiries a year from which only a small proportion are approved by our experienced researchers to establish new categories. These are not 'made up' to suit an individual proposal, but rather 'evolve' as a result of international competition in a field, which naturally accommodates superlatives of the sort that we are interested in. We think you will appreciate that we are bound to favour those that reflect the greatest interest.

We appreciate that this may be disappointing to you. We are always keen to hear from people who wish to set a Guinness World Record. If you should need any advice regarding record breaking in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us, quoting the above membership number.

Even though rejected I continued to work on the Fur Ball so that all of the Furry Pets fur applied to it will make each individual pet immortal.

The Log of Furry Pets Fur added to the Ball will continue to grow as will the Fur Ball itself. Look for the Fur Ball to be exhibited at local fairs, dog shows and where ever else I can think of.
